Term 4 Sporting Options

This letter is to inform you about the summer sports that we have on offer during Term 4 and how you can get involved. This may be your last chance if you’re a Year 8 student, make the most of the opportunities.

We are such a large school and often communication is difficult but I encourage any student that wishes to compete or participate in sport, to ensure they read our Daily Notices. These are available each morning via the students devices and are part of the classroom routine. These notices always have messages regarding meetings, practices etc. and is always our first port of call when trying to get information out to students.

Please note that all registrations are online. You will need to fill in a form for each sport your child wishes to participate in. The links can be found under each sport. If you do not have access to the internet, paper copies are available at the Sports Office.

During this term we offer the following team sports that are played weekly throughout the term – Cricket, Volleyball, Softball and Waterpolo - more information on days, times and fees can be found below. As there is such a limited timeframe to get these teams up and running, you must complete your online registration and pay by the due date - Friday 27th September. There are also opportunities to do gymnastics, trampolining, tennis and squash coaching, tae kwon do, surfing and golf lessons as well.

During Term 4 we hold our school athletics days during Week 4. We also belong to the Bay of Plenty/Poverty Bay Intermediate Association and the competitions they run during this term are Volleyball, Beach Challenge /Triathlon, Softball and Athletics.

The Sports Office is located in the gymnasium and all permission slips, money and uniforms relating to Sports are handed in there. If the office is unattended there is a ‘drop-box’ in the door for money and slips. Please ensure it is clearly labelled.
